Stress is the most common symptom we see in clinic. Often patients come in for something else but also have high stress levels. We treat the stress at the same time as the other complaints but we can also treat stress on it’s own.
Yes! Too much stress has a negative impact on your brain’s and body’s systems. It can affect your metabolic processes from digestion to reproduction, growth, and immunity (2) making you more vulnerable to disease. This is why people who are suffering extremely high amounts of stress usually have an array of health conditions that follow.
Not all stress is bad, small doses of minor stress can motivate you and allow you to work more efficiently. However, frequent doses of major stress or a constant state of stress will take its toll on your body, mental clarity, and quality of life.
Acupuncture has an effect on hormone levels, neurotransmitter, immune function, cellular growth and repair, muscular tension, and inflammation (2,3,4,5,6,7,8). Our treatments of acupuncture, Chinese herbs, supplementation, diet and lifestyle advice are designed to restore a balance to the body’s energy.
There are many signs that your body is not coping with stress, which you can find on this page. If you have one or more of these symptoms, it’s a good time to seek help from one of our acupuncturists.
Stress reduction is a big part of what we do at TLC Acupuncture Brisbane. All our acupuncturists have advanced training and extensive experience in this field.
